Definitely a five-star experience! Andy, Shu, Sandy and Luis gave THE BEST customer service. The food is delicious; many aromatic flavors without being salty. The scallop and beef dish is a must try. Pair it with their shrimp fried rice and you will be very satisfied.
Thank you, ANDY for recommending this place. I finally made it to China Moon! -

Back here putting another review for China Moon for delivering outstanding service and some updates from my last visit:
1. The interior has been updated and more lighting has been added to accentuate your food. This is a good look because now instead of just tasting your meal, you can see it more clearly! The environment feels a lot bigger since the lights set the borders, not the shadows.
2. The menu: Get the walnut shrimp: they use their own recipe so it's not too heavy like the mayo drenched typical walnut shrimp. If you eat the noodle of rice dish, try their spicy oil as well; homemade. Green beans initially will taste under flavored, but that's on purpose. You taste the greens, not the sauce and that's the point.
3. The menu has been updated but the underlying food is the same. There's a lot attention to detail on the food presentation and the food preparation so instead of scarfing it down like you would at Panda Express or some other Chinese eatery, eat it bite-for-bite and taste the different flavors. :) -

China Moon and I were both born in 1993. My family and I have been going since I was very young, and the food has always been amazing.
Since moving away from Laguna Niguel, I hadn't been to China Moon and had been craving it. I suggested this restaurant to my friends tonight while we were in town.
Our friends arrived at 6:00 and asked to please be placed on the waiting list for a party of 6. The staff told them it would be a 25-30 minute wait, which was fine. They came out a few minutes later and called our name for party of 2. Our friends corrected them and told them it was party of 6. We waited more, at this point it's 6:40. They come out and call our name for party of 5. Frustrated, we tell them again, party of SIX. We see a large table finishing up so we wait in the lobby. The host tells us to wait outside because we are blocking other people from coming in (there were none, and we of course would have moved out of the way if more people had arrived).
We wait outside for total of 1 hour for a table to open up for us, and when one finally does, it's given to another family.
Absolutely disrespectful and unprofessional. They could have gotten our party size right yhe first time, or the second time, and been truthful that there was another large party in front of us. We took our name off the "list" and went to the Kaleidoscope instead.
I don't think I'll be recommending China Moon to anyone in the near future. -

I walked in at about 7:30pm tonight, a Sunday and was greeted by at least 3 people working there. They were very welcoming with smiles and wanted to make sure I was helped. The taller blonde haired guy who took my Order was very nice. He also got me a glass of ice water with an orange in it while I was waiting. He updated me every 5 minutes on my order which I appreciated. I ordered to go soup dumplings and sizzling rice soup. The dumplings have a pretty thick wonton covering, but the inside pork is pretty tasty. The sizzling rice is great. I appreciated the rice being placed on the side so that it wasn't soggy when I got home. It also came with a side of crispy wontons which are always good to dip in the sweet and sour red sauce. I will be coming back here to try some of the meats with rice!

I loved, loved China Moon!!! My friend took me here for my birthday dinner, just her and I and her 3 year old and they were so accommodating. They allowed her son to have his huge garbage truck which he wanted to bring in to entertain him.
I ordered the Rainbow Shrimp, per the recommendation of the waitress and we ordered the Orange Chicken, one of my all time favorite dishes. Both were superb. The Rainbow Shrimp had two flavors of shrimp; I liked both but one was better on my palette than the other and my friend liked the other, but both had amazing flavors. It is their signature dish. The Orange Chicken was one of the top I have had. Definitely order! The white rice I found a bit dry so I asked for hot sauce but soy sauce might've been better. I do want to return here one day and try more of their dishes.
Also, they are closed 9/10 - 9/17 for an annual vacation time. They will reopen 9/18/19, my birthday!! I love that they take time off though I'm sure there will be many sad patrons missing this delicious food!
